Sheikah Slate Pedestals are Objects in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Location and Uses[]

Sheikah Slate Pedestals are Sheikah Slate Terminals that the Sheikah Slate can be placed into. When Link awakens in the Shrine of Resurrection, the voice of Zelda will guide him to take the Sheikah Slate from the nearby Pedestal.[2] Doing so will open the door to the next chamber, allowing Link to progress.

Every Guidance Stone is outfitted with a Sheikah Slate Pedestal underneath. When Link approaches the Guidance Stone on the Great Plateau Tower, the Pedestal will instruct him to place the Sheikah Slate inside it.[3] This will activate the Tower,[4] causing all of the Sheikah Towers across Hyrule Kingdom to rise out of the ground.[5][6]

Sheikah Slate Pedestals hold onto the Sheikah Slate while Guidance Stones distill information to it. Guidance Stones on top of Sheikah Towers will grant Link regional Map data.[7][8] Similarly, Link can retrieve Map information inside Divine Beasts.[9] In Ancient Shrines, Sheikah Slate Pedestals aid in the extraction of Runes.[10][11]

At the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, Purah will use the Sheikah Slate Pedestal to aid in the process of repairing the Sheikah Slate.[12][13][14] Afterwards, Link can place his Sheikah Slate in the Sheikah Slate Pedestal to upgrade his Runes during the "Slated for Upgrades" Side Quest.[15][16][17] Additionally, once "Sunshroom Sensing" has been completed, Link can have Hyrule Compendium entries added using the Guidance Stone.[18]

While The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack is active, Zelda will instruct Link to return the Sheikah Slate to the Sheikah Slate Pedestal in the Shrine of Resurrection.[19] When he does this, the Divine Beast Tamer's Trial will be activated.[20] Link's Map will then open, with four Markers now displayed.[21] The One-Hit Obliterator will then rise from the ground, and the Pedestal will instruct him to take it to begin the trial.[22]

Later in the "EX The Champions' Ballad" Main Quest, after Link has completed all four of the trials across Hyrule Kingdom, Monk Maz Koshia will tell him to return to the Shrine of Resurrection.[23] There, he will be instructed to place the Sheikah Slate inside the Sheikah Slate Pedestal to reveal a new trial.[24] The Pedestal will then cause the chamber to descend,[25] bringing Link to the Final Trial.
