Estimation under finite mixture of truncated type I generalized logistic components model based on censored data via EM algorithm. (English) Zbl 1274.62163

Summary: E. K. Al-Hussaini and S. F. Ateya [“Maximum likelihood estimations under a mixture of truncated type I generalized logistic components model”, J. Statist. Theory Appl. 2, No. 1, 47–60 (2003); “Bayes estimations under a mixture of truncated type I generalized logistic components model”, J. Statist. Theory. Appl. 4, No. 2, 183–208 (2005)] obtained the maximum likelihood and Bayes estimates of the parameters, reliability function (rf) and hazard rate function (hrf) of a mixture of two components of truncated type I generalized logistic distribution, \(\text{TTIGL}(\beta,\gamma,\alpha)\), with location parameter \(\beta\), scale parameter \(\gamma\) and shape parameter \(\alpha\), when the location parameters are equal to zero, when the scale parameters are assumed to be known and when the shape parameters are assumed to be known.
In this paper, the maximum likelihood estimates (MLE’s) of the parameters, rf and hrf of a finite mixture of \(\text{TTIGL}(0,\gamma,\alpha)\) are obtained, in case of type-I and type-II censored samples, using the EM algorithm assuming that the location parameters are equal to zero and all other parameters are unknown
