Summary: Circuit simulation is a standard task in the computer-aided design of electronic circuits. The generation of the circuit equations leads to differential-algebraic equations. With respect to the analysis of oscillatory circuits, periodic solutions are of major interest. For highly oscillatory circuits, direct methods are used to obtain the limit cycle efficiently. An efficient shooting method for solving the associated boundary-value problem of the differential-algebraic network equations is presented. Also, the applicability of a shooting method with implicitly used sensitivity is demonstrated.
