On the bending and flexure of a plate restrained by smooth-rigid clamps. (English) Zbl 0676.73025
In this paper an alternative mode of clamping at semi-infinite faces by smooth-rigid jaws is examined \((u_ 3=\sigma_{13}=0\) for \(x_ 1<0)\). The Wiener-Hopf-technique is used to determine closed forms for stress and displacements fields. It is shown that the particular mode of clamping can be significant even at large distances from the boundary.
