Symbolic computation of Bäcklund transformation and exact solutions to a variant of Boussinesq model for water waves. (English) Zbl 0966.76077

Summary: We show how symbolic computer computations can be used to find a self-similar Bäcklund transform and a family of exact analytical solutions to a variant of Boussinesq model for water waves. Some explicit solutions (solitonic and rational) are presented.
