The boundary element method for linear elastic problems is presented by starting from the ellipticity of elastic equations and concrete problems have been solved for the 2D and 3D elastostatics and the Kirchhoff type plate bending problems. The investigations have been extended to the inelastic case and also for the coupling use of BEM and FEM for some complex structures. The discretization schemes and many computational results have been briefly shown in this paper. This is a comprehensive presentation of the works of authors group since early eighties.
