Some characteristics of sound waves in shallow water in presence of a stratified ground. (Quelques caractéristiques de la propagation des ondes acoustiques en eau peu profonde en présence d’un fond stratifié.) (French) Zbl 0881.76084
Summary: The influence of a stratified ground on the acoustic field in shallow water is investiged. The stratified ground consists of a layer of fluid material (sediment layer) backed by an elastic semi-infinite socle (stone material). The influence of the density of the sediment layer on the modal structure of the acoustic field is investigated showing up certain phenomena. Especially, the role of surface waves is analysed.
