Skateboard dynamics. (English) Zbl 0900.70109

Summary: Dynamics of the controlled motion of a skateboard over rough horizontal plane is considered. The control is realized by means of purpose of change of displacements and turnings of a sportsman’s body. Propulsion force that provides the acceleration of skateboard and overcomes friction drag is produced by reaction forces of nonholonomic constraints. Differential equations of the motion are derived in Appell’s form. Dependence of the skateboard velocity and its trajectory on the motions of a sportsman’s body is obtained.
