Analytical solution of a mixed boundary value problem for rectangular plates. (English) Zbl 0927.74044
Summary: We present a theoretical analysis for free vibrations and buckling of rectangular plates resting on an elastic foundation with three fixed boundaries and one hinged boundary and subjected to uniform and constant compressive forces. The technique applied is based on the use of a nonorthogonal series expansion in some specially chosen trigonometric functions for the deflection surface of the plate.
