Summary: Several known families of relations among the multiple zeta values proved by using the generating functions are introduced to focus on the connection between the generating functions of relations among multiple zeta values and the hypergeometric functions. The infinite product expansion of the sine function and the gamma function representation of the Aomoto-Drinfel’d generating function are appeared in two of such results. It is also pointed out that the restricted sum formula due to M. Eie et al. in [J. Number Theory 129, No. 4, 908–921 (2009; Zbl 1183.11053)] is able to obtain as a simple rewrite of a formula which had been proved by the author in [J. Number Theory 74, No. 1, 39–43 (1999; Zbl 0920.11063)].
