From the text: The 21st International Conference on Descriptional Complexity of Formal Systems (DCFS 2019) was organized by the Košice branch of the Mathematical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences on July 17–19, 2019.
This special issue contains extended and revised versions of eight papers that were selected for journal publication from the papers presented at the conference, one of them being an invited talk.
