A function space \(C_p(X)\) not linearly homeomorphic to \(C_p(X)\times \mathbb{R}\). (English) Zbl 0904.46017
The author constructs two spaces \(X\) with the property that there is no continuous linear surjection from \(C_p(X)\) onto \(C_p(X)\times\mathbb{R}\).
