We derive conservation laws (or balance laws) using an invariant characteristic of a variational principle related to the Euclidean group of transformations. Using the Euclidean group of transformations, the equivalence between the conservation law and the Euclidean invariance is demonstrated. As a consequence, a nowel result for the conservation law (or balance laws) for granular materials has been obtained.
