Summary: Using a method of E. M. Stein and G. Weiss [Introduction to Fourier analysis on Euclidean spaces (Princeton 1971; Zbl 0232.42007)] and the inverse Abel transformation we study oscillating multipliers on noncompact Riemannian symmetric spaces of complex type. Our conclusion is similar to that of S. Giulini and S. Meda [J. Reine Angew. Math. 409, 93-105 (1990; Zbl 0696.43007)] for noncompact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one.
