Seiberg-Witten equations on \(R^ 8\). (English) Zbl 0882.57027
The authors point out the Seiberg-Witten equations associated to a \(\text{spin}^c\)-structure on a \(2n\)-dimensional manifold. They show that there are no nontrivial solutions of the Seiberg-Witten equations on \(\mathbb{R}^8\) with constant standard \(\text{spin}^c\)-structure.
