Summary: We introduce a method to assign channels in hierarchical wireless networks that use cluster heads on three levels. Our channel assignment tries to balance the distribution of channels and also addresses the presence of a primary user that could inhibit communication on any channel. We use some patterns that could help generalize the problem for larger networks and/or more cluster levels.
