The National Institute in Italy (1796-1814). (Italian) Zbl 0860.01034
With main emphasis on the prehistory and the early history, the author describes the general scientific and political situations which were essential for the creation of the Istituto Nazionale, in analogy to the Société Nationale in the post-revolutionary Paris, in northern Italy during its Napoleonic times.
