Stabilization of an overhead crane with a variable length flexible cable. (English) Zbl 1119.93043

Summary: This paper deals with the asymptotic stabilization of an hybrid PDE-ODE system which describes an overhead crane with a variable length flexible cable. Stabilizing boundary feedback laws have previously been developed in the case of a cable with fixed length.
