On the variance associated to a family of ovaloids in the Euclidean space \(E_3\). (English) Zbl 1129.60013
The authors compute the variance for the volume of the intersection between a fixed convex body and a system of random independent and uniformly distributed ovaloids in the three-dimensional space. The covariances between the volumes of intersections with two systems is also computed.
