Improved method for evaluating damping ratios of a vibrating system. (English) Zbl 0782.70016
This note aims to simplify the method of D. Inman and B. Jiang [Int. J. Anal. Exp. Modal Analysis 2, No. 1, 38-42 (1987)] and to extend it to nonsymmetric systems. In addition, mode truncation is also addressed.
