Laminar source flow between parallel naturally permeable disks in the presence of a magnetic field. (English) Zbl 1155.76421

Summary: In the present investigation laminar source flow between two infinite parallel fluid-saturated naturally permeable disks of very small permeability is considered in the presence of magnetic field. A source is placed at the center of the channel formed by the disks and a constant injection velocity is applied at the disks. The solution for the present problem is obtained by perturbing the source free flow and is valid for small values of reduced Reynolds number. At the fluid-porous medium interface a set of suitable boundary conditions, is applied and the expressions for velocity and shear stress are obtained. The effects of permeability and magnetic field on the flow field are investigated and discussed.
