Sonic and kinetic phase transitions with applications to Chapman-Jouguet deflagrations. (English) Zbl 1047.35096
Strongly underdetermined sonic phase boundaries are studied in the case of a system of conservation laws. After proposing a Riemann solver which singles out solutions uniquely global existence of weak solutions to the Cauchy problem is proved. As an application the Chapman-Jouguet deflagration is treated.
