Summary: The concept of differential strings is introduced and exemplified. Two different kinds of repeated covariant differentiation on the tangent bundle and the cotangent bundle of a differentiable manifold are discussed and characterized in local coordinates by means of derivative and differential strings. Finally, using such strings the concepts of repeated covariant differentiation is generalized.
