Stochastic resonance in bistable systems with fluctuating barriers. (English) Zbl 0872.70015

Haba, Zbigniew (ed.) et al., Stochasticity and quantum chaos. Proceedings of the 3rd Max Born Symposium, Sobótka Castle, Poland, September 15-17, 1993. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers. Math. Appl., Dordr. 317, 209-216 (1995).
Summary: A multiplicative bistable system perturbed by a periodic forcing term is shown to exhibit stochastic resonance with increasing the intensity of the multiplicative noise. Such an effect is related to the phenomenon of stochastic stabilization, which takes place in the unperturbed system.
