Inhomogeneous confluent hypergeometric equation and its application in an electromechanical problem. (English) Zbl 0979.74502
Summary: A solution of inhomogeneous confluent hypergeometric equation is presented. Convergency, derivative, recurrence relation, integral representation of the particular integral called D-function involved in the above solution are discussed. The relation between D-function and Lommel function has been established. This inhomogeneous confluent hypergeometric equation is used in finding the stress distribution in an inhomogeneous piezoelectric spherical shell under electromechanical boundary stipulation.
