Some remarks on domain-transition problems. (English) Zbl 0869.73056
Since various approaches have been proposed to model specific domain-transition phenomena in continuum mechanics without mutual communications, an attempt is made here, based on the moving jump forms of conservation laws, to explore the common feature behind these different approaches. With an emphasis on localized creep damage, the possibility of simplifying existing modeling procedures is investigated, which might yield a unified simple approach to analyze different domain-transition problems.
