After reading Wishtree, I had my students create four journal entries for Maeve's journal, one entry per season. Then, we made a four seasons oak tree painting. The background was painted with watercolors first. Then the tree silhouette was drawn with marker. Last, the leaves and snow were added using cotton swabs and tempura paint. Each season panel folds up to reveal the corresponding journal entry underneath.
