HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Residents of the Concord Hills apartments in Hartford are still looking for permanent homes after the building caught on fire back in August.

“To be clear, the Gray Hill Group has been lying to us from the very onset,” Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam said.

The Gray Hill Group owns the apartments, according to Arulampalam, and has been dragging its feet on repairs.

The city has been putting the displaced tenants up in hotels, but as of Dec. 10, they will have to move out and find permanent housing.

“The reason we’re back here today is because the clock is ticking and people have a deadline that they are getting from City Hall,” Luke Melonakos-Harrison, vice president of the Connecticut Tenants Union, said.

The mayor said that he has met with the tenants union and they’ve had a housing fair to connect tenants to resources and find a new place to live.

News 8 reached out to the Concord Hills apartment complex but has not heard back.
