According to a press release from DPZ, the zoo has added a trio of two-year-old lesser kudu and a Chacoan peccary.

Kudu are a bushland antelope native to east Africa and lesser kudu are a new species for the zoo. The new additions at DPZ are two-year-old males named M’Baku, Jabari and Namor. Head zookeeper Tracy Campbell said the kudu are expected to be on exhibit starting Sunday, Nov. 17.

Relish, a female Chacoan peccary born earlier this year, is getting to know her new mate, Flash. Peccaries are native to South America and were thought to be extinct until a small population was discovered in the 1970s.

OzarksFirst sat in with Joey Powell with DPZ during an interview with Sharing Stories of the Crossroads with John Sellars on KICK 92.3 FM. She spoke about the daily life of animals at the park as well as upcoming events.

You can find that interview above.

DPZ will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but will be open the rest of the holiday weekend.
