Albert IV, Duke of Saxe-Eisenach

Albrecht, Duke of Saxe-Eisenach (b. Altenburg, 27 July 1599 - d. Eisenach, 20 December 1644), was a duke of Saxe-Eisenach.

He was the seventh but fourth surviving son of Johann, Duke of Saxe-Weimar and Dorothea Marie of Anhalt.

Albrecht receives his first instruction by the Marshall Field Frederick of Kospoth. Later, he study in the University of Jena with his brothers.

In the years 1619-1621 he completes his Cavalierstour (Study Tour) with his younger brother Johann Frederick. The two princes travel to France and Switzerland. With both princes, travel his guards, the Marshall Field Hans Bernd of Botzheim and the Advice Field Tobias Adami.

After his return, in 1621, Albrecht is busy until 1626 mainly with tasks of government. He represents also his absent brothers.

In Weimar on 24 June 1633 Albrecht married with Dorothea of Saxe-Altenburg. This marriage was childless.

In accordance with the divisionary treaty with his brothers, Albrecht receives Eisenach in 1640. He died four years later, and his state was merged by Saxe-Weimar.
