Templenewsam Halton Primary School (also known as Templenewsam Halton Primary School) is a county primary school in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was established as the village school in 1842 and maintains this important role in the community.
School information
It accommodates children in the 3 – 11 age group in two separate buildings. The original school is now part of the Elect school. The planned capacity for the school was 420 and we presently have 417 children on role, organised into 14 mixed ability classes. In addition we have a 39 place Nursery which accommodates 78 children on a part time basis (5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions per week).
School history
Temple Newsam Halton Primary School was established in 1842 in a Victorian structure still existing today. This structure is no longer apart of Templenewsam Halton Primary School. The old building used to be home to two Year 6 classrooms, a library, an ICT suite and a music practice room.
In recently years, the school has expanded parts of its building to accommodate a larger lower school as the demand for places increases.
