[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Panakkattodil Devi Temple. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. — Finemann (talk) 11:32, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Uploading a copyrighted photo
[edit]Hello! I'm really sorry, but Wikipedia policies are totally against uploading copyrighted work. But some exceptions can be made if you prove that the image is quite essential to illustrate a point in the article. For example you can upload album arts, film posters, stamps, currency etc. even though they are bound by copyright laws. You might want to read more about it here. Anyway what image are you trying to upload? Is it an image of the temple about which you recently created an article? If yes, why don't you just vist the place and take a photo and upload it? That'd be perfectly ok. Hope this helped. Regards! — Finemann (talk) 13:53, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Dear Vikian, I just noticed that you've uploaded a lot of copyrighted photos to Wikipedia for use in the article Panakkattodil Devi Temple. As I explained before this is against the Wikipedia policies. Please do consider reading the article about copyrighted photos. I am tagging all those photos as copyright violations. I am assuming good faith when I am doing it, and please don't feel bad about it. If I don't do it, somebody else will and eventually they all will get deleted. But most importantly please don't leave Wikipedia because of this! Good editors are the cornerstone of Wikipedia. That said, I really appreciate the work you did on the article! Good luck! — Finemann (talk) 14:09, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
How can I prove it as a non copyrighted material ?
[edit]Hello Finemann
If I just vist the place and take a photo and upload it to Wikipedia, Then how can I prove it as a non copyrighted image ?
- While uploading it make sure that you mention that it was your own work. Wikipedia then will suggest you a license by which you can license your photo. And since you haven't published your photo anywhere else, it would be perfectly acceptable. But again don't add your name/watermark to the photo. And another advice is if you are planning to do some modification on the photo (say tweak it using Gimp or Photoshop), upload the original photo first and then upload the modified photo (you will see "upload newer version of this file" on the page). Hope this clarified the issues. — Finemann (talk) 07:08, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Undo edit in Johnson (composer) Notable songs section
[edit]These are the songs which like by Johnson, revealed in an interview with Malayala Manorama, Johnson listed 13 songs as his favourite songs. So an additon of other songs deleted from the section.
Using Bare Refs in your recent edits
[edit]- Hello Vikian thanks for adding references to wiki articles , please read What constitutes a Reliable source to understand more about and also about self published sources eg Blogs. you cannot use blogs as a reference for wiki articles. Please find other reliable sources but do not use blogs.
- another issue is whenever you want to add a reference then while editing you willl see a toolbar on top which says "cite" click on it and then click on "templates" choose the appropriate template and then fill as many details as you can, this will add a well formatted reference that would be helpful in case the link dies afoter some time. thanks and regards-- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 10:47, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Adding References in article
[edit]Some wikipedia articles don't have proper references. For eg. some persons are famous but they don't have any online references. In these situations how can I add references for these articles? How can I prove these articles from reliable source ?
Hi Vikian, and thank you for leaving feedback. To prevent vandalism, Wikipedia does not allow new users to upload images until their account is autoconfimed - this happens after four days and ten edits. There are, nevertheless, three ways you can upload your image.
- You can make a request at this page to get your account confirmed early.
- If the image is free from copyright or released under a CC-BY-SA license, you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons, a site for free images from which Wikipedia can draw content.
- You can wait a few days and do a bit of editing, thus getting upload permissions automatically.
I hope this helps; if you have any questions please feel free to contact me on my talkpage or ask at the helpdesk.
