According to the survey, almost all Polish residents (98 percent), as well as 90 percent of respondents from the UK, agreed that Poles risked their own lives to save Jews from the Shoah. Among German respondents, the overall percentage of such responses was 73 percent, while in France, 70 percent answered the question in the affirmative, and Italy - 63 percent.
United Surveys, who compiled the data, recalls that Poles are the most numerous representation of people who have been awarded the highest Israeli civilian distinction, given to non-Jews - the Righteous Among the Nations medal.

* In Poland the survey was conducted on 20 January 2020 by CATI on a sample of 1100 people; in Germany on 17-20 January 2020 by CAWI on a sample of 2122 people; in France on 15-16 January 2020 by CAWI on a sample of 1008 people; in the UK on 17-20 January 2020 by CAWI on a sample of 2029 people; in Italy on 15-17 January 2020 by CAWI on a sample of 800 people.
The list includes the answers of respondents who declared to have knowledge of Poland's role in World War II.
