Skull & Bones, the open-world pirate adventure announced by Ubisoft at E3 2017, has been delayed to the publisher’s 2019-2020 fiscal year, Ubisoft told investors today. The game was originally charted for sometime in the last six months of this year.

“In line with previous practices and in view of the acceleration of our digital transformation, growth in back-catalog sales and excellent momentum of recent releases, Ubisoft has decided to give itself more time to develop Skull & Bones to offer players an even more engaging experience,” the company said in this earnings report.

Skull & Bones was shown off last June in Los Angeles at Ubisoft’s news conference. It features tactical naval combat within its single- and multiplayer modes, which included five-on-five player-vs.-player action. Players use a variety of ships and their cannons to subdue and board other vessels, where the encounters end with hand-to-hand combat.

Ubisoft Singapore is the developer; the studio worked on 2013’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which featured pirate-themed nautical combat extensively. Skull & Bones was announced for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
