This was a hoot. This gives you a feel for the story.

“” Of course,” Sheriff Brown said, and then slowly, deliberately started turning his head 280 degrees around on his neck … A second later he groaned and put both hands to his neck. “What the—did I just—“My neck—“”

And her cat is possessed by Thomas Cromwell!! Not very well written, but like popcorn, you just can‘t put it down.

This was a fantastic wrap up to the series, although it came a lot sooner than I thought it would! Cin learns so much, and grows a great deal as a character, and most of the minor characters are strongly drawn and as vibrant as she is. Ofc there‘s a HEA, but getting there is a TRIP, and there‘s enough action and derring do to satisfy just about anyone. And of course, there‘s Havoc…😏 A quick read, but a good one.

I had a long drive to vote so this is where I listened to the bulk of the end. There was one spot I was like, mmmmmm, 3/4 of the way through. But so solid otherwise. It had me from the beginning. Liked the characters or not, depending on who. Do you have whiskey?

Voted, Done ✔️
Now the wait begins 🤞🏻
In the meantime I finished my reread of Grave Sight and on to my reread of Grave Surprise. The Harper Connolly series is my favorite of Charlaine Harris' books 🤎

I really enjoyed Angelfall and I think it was a great start for the trilogy. It is considered a YA dystopian and as you can guess involves angels. There was a lot of ground to cover getting the characters and plots set up so it's a fast paced book. Angelfall is set around a teen girl named Penryn that's only current mission is to save her little sister from the bad guys.

Continued in comments

RedxoHearts A group of the angels stole her sister Paige from her wheelchair while they were trying to get away. After the fight Penryn stops to help the angel Raffe who is the other prominent character. Even just within the first book they are met with some big challenges including being held by the human resistance. 1d
RedxoHearts I think that Susan Ee does a great job with setting the scenes and bringing it to life in the reader's mind. Without spoiling too much the scenes involving a lab setup towards the end were super creepy and dark. It was an interesting direction to go but I think it was the perfect choice. I can't wait to find out what happens next 1d

Vishous goes to Jane's home to tell her the good news, that Phury will take his place. He removes the block on her memories. Meanwhile, Phury goes to the other side to start his duties as Primale. He is appalled that Carmia is bound and gaged to a bed. He releases her and takes her back to the mansion. Phury has the Directrix's number and reports her to the SV. Vishous goes to the hospital and removes the images of his heart and wipes Manny's mind

TheSpineView During training, Zsadist realizes John is lefthanded like his father, Darius. He comments that he even moves like him. Jane is shot by a lesser and dies in Vishous's arms. Jane is greeted by her sister's ghost on the other side. The ghost tells Jane she must let Vishous go to continue fully to the other side. V has a plan to reanimate Jane by using lesser blood. The SV stops him. Phury discovers that the Directrix is the one who shot Vishous. 1d
TheSpineView Vishous's visions come back ṭo him. The SV gives Jane back to Vishous, sort of. She is a ghost now. John is given Darius's journal. V goes to thank the SV for the gift of Jane and finds that her sacrifice was her beloved birds. It is revealed that V has a twin sister. Jane goes to say goodbye to Manny as a ghost. V takes a bird to the SV as a gift. @PageShifter @Laughterhp @julesG @ShananigansReads @DuckOfDoom @InkedBookworm13 @tdrosebud 1d

TheSpineView Some final thoughts on this book. In my eyes, the SV redeemed herself a little with the gift of Jane to V. However, she destroyed it when I found out she was basically keeping her daughter in suspended animation. I have come to the conclusion that she is just one of those characters I am going to love to hate. I think Jane as a personal physician to the brothers is fabulous. No more Havers! Yeah! So happy John now has a piece of Darius. I wonder 1d
ShananigansReads So many things happening at the end of this book. I remember having mixed feelings about how Jane and V end up together when I first read the story but this time around I feel like it‘s pretty perfect. Maybe because I already knew what to expect. 1d
TheSpineView ...if the journal will tell us who John's mother is. Will we even get any insight into what is in the journal. I'm glad V got his own HEA. Now on to Phury's story. Free free to discuss anything, even if it is at a later date. 1d
TheSpineView @ShananigansReads I feel bad that they can't have children. Maybe something miraculous will happen on that front. 1d
julesG I don't like the SV. So far every time she did something nice we get to see a 'nastier' side of her afterwards. I want to know what's in the journal too. There are quite a lot of lose ends at the end of the book. Sure, they will be dealt with in later books, hopefully, but when in later books. I'm impatient. 😉 1d
TheSpineView @julesG IK! I want to read ahead but so far have contained myself. 4h
julesG I stopped after book 10. Didn't want to binge the whole series at once. 4h

First two days of this week already done… I haven‘t read anything since Sunday, I can‘t concentrate. Election anxiety is sky high, especially since I‘m not American and can‘t really do anything. To all American 🇺🇸 Littens, please make your voices heard today 💙🗳️.

Dresden is the only wizard (that we know of) in Chicago and he‘s up against some pretty scary werewolves. And sometimes he helps the police and sometimes they‘re locking him up. And sometimes the werewolves help him and sometimes they nearly kill him. Then there are the local mafiosi to contend with. Who‘s killing innocents in grizzly ways? Everyone has a reason to find out, and Dresden keeps making foolish decisions but ultimately the crime is ⬇️
