If you want to stick to Litsy only just ignore.

I've dusted off the #PemberLittens Facebook Group to share a video of #JaneAustenThenAndNow Book Club https://www.facebook.com/share/19WBUhK2kj/

Also on Threads. https://bit.ly/3AkVnvQ

And Instagram. https://bit.ly/3Yzu8pq

Instagram is fun because my dear friend Claire from 🇬🇧 https://bit.ly/4eihalH joins in there with some amazing posts. Her mum made my Jane doll on the shelf behind me.

A lovely little escape read for today. I don‘t think I had ever read Through the Looking Glass. A reread of Alice has been on my radar since learning Paul McCartney and John Lennon were huge Lewis Carroll fans. The wordplay is great fun.

MemoirsForMe Learned something new about The Beatles. Cool! 10h

@TheSpineView (thanks for the tag! 😘)

1. I am all about the melancholy, and sunsets bring that out in me. A sunset over saguaros is quite breathtaking.
2. Gothic, France, Pyrenees

Mehso-so

I told myself I would never read these books, but here I am. The story was simple and to the point. While there is nothing wrong with Christian values, this book feels like it wants you to blindly follow and trust in those values, without questioning, and that's where the problem stems from.

Doppoetry The antagonists aren't antagonists because they are motivated by anything specific. You are meant to just trust that they are bad because “trust me, bro.“ I found the portrayal of the “white witch“ to be pretty misogynistic. I can see people arguing over the opposite, where he had given a woman power over a man and some children, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth. 14h

dabbe Oh how I loved Pippi Longstocking! I tried to do a book report on one of the books in 5th grade, but the teacher said I couldn't because it wasn't “on the list.“ And we wonder why kids just might not like reading in school. 😝 15h
lil1inblue @dabbe I loved Pippi so much, too. I can't believe you couldn't do a book report on her! Isn't the whole point to get kids excited about reading? I was so blessed in the teacher department - almost all of my teachers (elementary all the way through college) went “off list“ for book selections, and we were allowed to, as well. 😍 13h
Eggs I read Pippi over and over! It was my first chapter book I bought from the paper catalog thingie (Scholastic) before there were bonafide book fairs. 10h
