Once this system is done, we can put the execs to work as restroom attendants - it's a useful job which requires knowing who's present in the restroom cubicle to provide help in case of a medical emergency. There they can put their "skills" to work.
Great. I especially like the "core week" mentioned in the article which is a week each year employees do travel to meet each other and brainstorm etc. it's good to acknowledge that face to face does have some advantages but that it should be used where it really helps not for normal day to day work. Far too many companies force RTO but have distributed teams so people are just sitting at a desk in the office collaborating remotely just like they did at home...
Rare instance of a large company actually allowing employees to keep that option. You have other large companies like Dell or Amazon forcing people back into the office. Good on Spotify to not go that route.
And it's even much cheaper than office work 🤣🤣
As a Foster Parent, I am limited to only living in my County. I cannot just up and move to a new city. Companies that offer remote work are truly equal opportunity.
