Did you know you can still share your views on the proposed changes to the NZ Government Web Standards until the 13th of October? Below are some suggestions from the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO). Short-term updates (2024): - Align the Web Accessibility Standard with WCAG 2.2. - Update contact information requirements and privacy statements in the Web Usability Standard. - Make content printable on A4 paper and include relevant information (like the web page’s title as specified in the HTML). - Introduce new terms to clarify responsibility for websites. Long-term plans (2025-2026): - Expand the Web Accessibility Standard into a Digital Accessibility Standard to cover all digital content, including mobile apps and desktop software.
