Wow 🤯 I am humbled and honored by this Forbes Australia cover story. What started as a chat with mark whittaker in an elevator turned into a deep piece encompassing interviews with so many different people across my career. As the article explains, neither shy middle school me nor my mum could have dreamt up my journey from law school and computer science graduate two decades ago, to today at Canva. I must thank Mark for artfully putting together all the pieces to tell not just my story but also how the pathways of my cofounders, our investors, and other key players intersected and led Canva to where it is in 2024. There’s no such thing as a fail-proof blueprint for bringing massive ideas to life and building global companies. Still, Mark does a fantastic job illustrating—through the lens of my last decade-plus of building products—how the right mix of people, each bringing their distinct ideas and experiences, contribute to a company’s success.
Your company helped me create mine after I’d lost my corporate job and I am ever grateful. Your generosity in offering free accounts was a game changer. I can remember vowing to become a Pro subscriber as soon as I could to say thank you. Five years later I’m growing strong thanks in part to Canva and its willingness to give business owners like me a jumpstart.
badass cover 😎 shame the article is paywalled, and there is no monthly or pay per article pricing Forbes 😒
You’re pretty inspiring Cameron. It was great when I had the chance to hear the story behind Canva when you were down in Tassie. Congrats
Congrats! I bet we would win that debate now!! #aiaustralia
Cameron Adams your Mum is right about you barely saying a word in the old days. I still remember the CV you submitted to Hearne software all those years ago: it was two lines long! How times have changed...
Congrats! I'm late to the party... just started using CANVA last week ad watching lots of Youtube videos to learn. Super cool.
Congrats Cameron Adams and welcome to the Forbes Family.
You’re one in a million, Cam!
Such a badass photo!!
