🥽 Are you buying one? Images of the new Meta Quest 3S start to surface online. Expected to be launched next week: This might end up becoming one of the biggest entrance doors to VR/XR ever. I've talked about the new Quest 3S in a few previous posts already. It's supposed to be a lighter version of the Quest 3, with XR enabled, for people who can't afford the Q3. We don't have full specs, but it'll definitely have lower processing power, with the same battery! At the end of the day, we're talking about: - A light device (potentially the lightest out there, might be lighter than the Q3) - Enough processing power to run most modern stuff (similar to a Quest 2 power) - Same battery of the Q3, which means more hours of usage - Lower price! If you thought $500 was affordable, this should come for less It's supposed to be released next week, during Meta's Connect 2024. So if you still have a Quest 2, the time to sell it is NOW! Guardrail metrics are important…. Let me give Meta more money!!!! Yes, I am a nerd and occasionally enjoy VR. I personally own a Meta Quest Pro and was trying to purchase a game via their store. Each time, I get to the checkout page and it breaks. Can’t click to purchase. I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it and each time it fails. Are you watching your critical flows for failures? I was excited to attend my first Meta Connect this year after working in the XR industry for 7 years with ArborXR! Here are some of my big takeaways from this year's Connect: $299 Meta Quest 3S - A game changer for the Enterprise use of XR. It was unheard of a few years ago to think of a great MR device under $1k, never mind $299. I expect more companies to get into VR training and have larger deployments next year! Orion AR Glasses - We're still a few years away from sunglasses style AR devices taking over, but this is definitely some "time travel"! In a few years these will be everywhere. A game changer for all sorts of enterprise use cases. Expanded 2D Application Support — This is probably the least sexy announcement but one of the most important for enterprise adoption of XR! So many enterprise applications, like Slack, Hubspot, etc., are perfect for a 2D panel. Excited to come back to Meta Connect in 2025!
