ALL HAIL DEMOCRACY Meta's new direction is quite interesting as they aim to support the expansion of the llama model for everyone through open sourcing. Llama consists of two components: open weights, which make the parameters public like a matrix storing information about an LLM, and open source, which releases the source code for people to understand how to train these models. According to Zuckerberg, developers can run inference on Llama on their own infra at roughly half the cost of using closed models like GPT-4o, for both user-facing and offline inference tasks. By inviting contributions from a global pool of developers, researchers, and enthusiasts, Llama facilitates democratic advancements in the model's capabilities, allowing it to be explored in a plethora of use cases, rather than limited to corporate tech teams and their vendors. Individuals and organizations can fine-tune its parameters for specific datasets or modify its architecture to address specialized applications for their needs. Although, as with any open source, Llama is likely to expose itself to biases, adversarial attacks, and data leakage. But hey, baby steps, right?

The organization aims to innovate by promoting trustworthy AI that aligns with its mission of internet health and human-centered technology, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in AI technology within the Firefox ecosystem. It’s crazy to think how the landscape of content creation, communication and marketing is being terraformed as new technologies are developed.🤯 The idea of viewing a normal, static, pre recorded or designed piece of content, like an email, TV show, commercial, film, YouTube video, etc, may be completely overhauled in the future to make way for content which is dynamic…Content which changes depending on user preferences, demographics or custom settings🤓 Sports games with a plethora of AI commentary.⚽️ Sitcoms which never feel like reruns with dynamic scenes and punchlines. Photoshop tennis on steroids is mentioned here and yet there are so many ideas which still need to be explored. The future is scary yet exciting 🤩😬
