One Big Table (OBT) is superior to any other form of data warehouse modeling technique, and the only way you should go for all of your tables in your warehouse. Yes, that means repeating data everywhere. Yes, that means much larger tables than what you are used to do. And yet, in this day and age, it's the only way to go. Storage is cheap, compute is expensive. Querying OBTs on delta lakes is far faster and cheaper on large data. Therefore, use OBT. #obt #dataengineering #datawarehousing #datamodeling #data

ACID properties are essential for ensuring the reliability and integrity of data read/write operations in DBMS. This is not readily available in conventional Data Lake unless you run a Delta Lake storage layer on the Data Lake. In the Delta lake framework, Delta tables are used as the storage format to provide these properties. Delta tables achieve the ACID standard by implementing -schema enforcement -write file isolation -maintaining transaction logs -cyclic redundancy check(CRC) for logs.
