Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus! Happy St David’s Day! The first of March is Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant, or St David’s Day, the day when Wales celebrates its patron saint. A renowned preacher, his final words to his followers before his death on 1 March 589 were “Be joyful, keep the faith, and do the little things that you have heard and seen me do.” St David believed that we should “do the little things”, the small, considerate things that often make a big difference. What's one small thing you could do today that might make a big difference somewhere or to someone? - Check in with a friend or colleague you’ve not spoken to for a while? - Smile at someone as you pass them in the office or in the street? - Make someone a cuppa? - Let someone know you think they’re doing a great job? You never know how the small thing that you do might impact someone else’s day 😊 Let us know the little things that you do to make a difference. #Kindness #Wellbeing #WellbeingAtWork #Support #HR #HRCommunity #Inclusion #Recognition

This Juneteenth, I am taking time to reflect and identify ways in which I can show up with a critical and racial justice lens to my work. I believe that us non-black folks can show up inside and outside of work is by taking the steps to actively address racism on interpersonal, community, and systemic levels. One way to start taking these steps is by attending workshops with others who are also on their racial justice journeys. My organization, Common Spark Consulting, is hosting 2 upcoming workshops in July and August. https://lnkd.in/gs4wvrVe https://lnkd.in/gFDnAskU These workshops are "201" spaces; if you've taken an introductory DEI course or training, this is a space to build upon those concepts turning your theory into practice. Racial justice is environmental justice!

💡Presenting and attending the COSA Seaside Conference was illuminating. This year, I had the opportunity to facilitate dozens of professional learning sessions for educators, paraprofessionals, and counselors. I also planned and hosted several collaboratives to break down silos and bring community partners and school community members together. Despite all of this experience, being in a licensure program for educational administration, and my belief that hierarchical power does not make people more important, I was extremely nervous about presenting to administrators. 🪞However, the conference offered me several key takeaways: 1. I have an incredible team and we do great things together. While I had the privilege of planning our presentation, it wasn't all on my shoulders. My incredible colleagues showed up brilliantly, and we were able to share our approach to supporting Student Behavioral Health & Wellness with a group of 50+ administrators who care deeply about the people they serve in different Oregon regions. 2. Administrators are just people, each with their own hopes, fears, and cultural identities that make up the multifaceted person they present to the world. 3. Legal compliance is important, but in order for me to remain in alignment with my WHY as an educational leader, I must continually refocus on my equity lens, which involves a vision for inclusion and belonging for all kids. 4. The power of coming together as a team and connecting as human beings is vital for staff. It reinforces our shared mission and strengthens our community. There are more thoughts percolating, but that's at the forefront for me right now. #COSA #COSALEADERSHIP

Why gather? ➡️ Feeling connected to others is not just a basic human need, it’s crucial for our physical and mental health — and the health of our communities. It seems there are fewer and fewer actual public places that enable us to get to know one another and build the relationships, trust, and collaborations that society needs to thrive, let alone function. It’s hard — but necessary. ➡️ There is so much that keeps us apart as Americans, and it can feel countercultural and intimidating to get to know people outside of our bubbles. A dangerous feedback loop can spin out of control when we distance ourselves from others... and then lose the muscle to be in community with people unlike ourselves. But we are all yearning to feel part of something, to feel less fear, to feel like we belong. We can't let this feedback loop happen. Try this. ➡️ Become a gathering engineer. Pay attention to the kids of connection your community is yearning for and sketch out what public, purposeful gathering places could exist. It could be a swap meet, a BBQ at the county fair, a program at your library, a Memorial Day potluck, a community garden workshop… gatherings can (and should!) fit with the culture of your place. What do you notice? ⬇️ Leave a comment below about the existing (or missing) civic gatherings in your community. Learn more about civic gatherings: https://lnkd.in/e2Qs6cff ——— This is part of a project by @citizenuniversity to #SparkCitizenship. With a new theme each month of 2024, you'll hear stories of people who are catalyzing a commitment to powerful, responsible citizenship in others. You'll find tools and prompts and resources to help you skill up. And you'll connect with others who are doing the same thing.

A good video..this is how companies should make professional videos with a good message. Generally most of the companies make corporate videos but it seems they are just making for sake of marketing their brand. Hope employees feel the same vibes with senior management. Found something good and shared. I am not associated with this company.
Celebrating with the people who make us smile and make our life comfortable on our 13th Foundation Day. #ExceedingExcellence #PRPTurns13 #13YearsOfExcellence #CelebratingPRP #PRPAnniversary
