In early June 2024, I had the pleasure of participating in a fireside chat with Amy Rotman during the 121 Mining and Investor Summit. We talked about Nucleation Capital and our thesis revolving around the importance of nuclear energy as a tool in the energy transition. I described some of the new technologies being developed or refined to make nuclear systems that are able to serve the needs of a much larger customer base than the one served by monopoly electric utility companies that wanted huge central station power plants. Industrial heat and electricity production on a smaller scale are driving forces leading developers to configurations that allow higher operating temperatures at lower pressures. We also talked about the business model innovations being pursued, including the idea of companies that build, own and operate fleets of nuclear reactors while selling heat and power under long term power purchase agreements. https://lnkd.in/ecg-grGx

Denison Mines was highlighted in The Globe and Mail special national feature, "Investing in Mining." From discussions around true 'energy metals' to clean electricity generation, uranium stands out as a crucial component in our journey towards sustainability. Denison's innovative and motivated approach, including our industry leadership in deploying in-situ recovery (ISR) mining in the Athabasca Basin, positions the Company to capitalize on heightened uranium demand. For those subscribed to the Globe & Mail, keep an eye out for today’s paper, available on newsstands now. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ejXh6uUn #DenisonMines #UraniumMining

Thanks @quakes99 for helping highlight once again that the world's largest uranium user, requiring ~47Mlbs annually, is almost entirely reliant on offshore supply. Conditions are finally right to rapidly correct this crazy situation so that the US uranium mining sector can once again realistically target achieving the 1980's historical production peak of over 40Mlbs p.a. https://lnkd.in/gW5qXZph

Today, there are 61 nuclear power plants under construction globally. Another 90 or so are in the planning stage and more than 300 have been proposed. There’s even a push to re-open old plants that had been shuttered years ago.

#Flaring is methane burning to waste. it's been a #sustainability #energywaste problem Bitcoiners been banging on about for a decade! Now finally has attention thanks to 'new' tech like AI and #bitcoinmining. These are top 2 significant ways to monetize the uncaptured methane energy combined with datacenter on top. Now imagine the use of overnight surplus from nuclear.

Laramide's Westmoreland Uranium Project in Australia is considered to be one of the world’s best development-stage uranium deposits not under control of a major mining company. The current JORC and NI 43-101 resource model defines 51.9Mlb U3O8 across three deposits. Internal review of the historical data, which was further encouraged by 2023 drilling, has determined that there is potential to significantly increase the size of the project at minimal expense, due to the shallow nature of the mineralization. While the current resource is substantial, we see the potential for significant growth that could serve to increase the attractiveness of the deposit, both economically and for the potential future benefit of western nuclear utilities and Queensland stakeholders. 2024 work includes revisiting the north-east section of the Murphy Project in the Northern Territory adjacent to the Queensland border which appears to be an analogue of Westmoreland. Today's news release with a description of the exploration program for 2024 is available at, laramide.com https://bit.ly/3x3ZbPU #uraniummininginAustralia #uraniumsupplyshortage #uranium $LAM

4moThe Midland, MI nuclear power plant was designed to provide process steam to DOW Chemical across the river. The design utilized a tertiary loop to further isolate DOW. We know it can be done. Unfortunately, the plant was cancelled in the fall of 1984.
