Buskowitz Group Secures Major Equity Investment from Joint-Venture Fund Backed by PATRIZIA SE and Mitsui & Co Buskowitz Energy Inc., the Philippines’ leading provider of rooftop solar and renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors, has secured a significant investment agreement with the APAC Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (A-SIF). Managed by PATRIZIA MBK Fund Management Pty Ltd, a joint venture between Germany’s PATRIZIA SE and Japan’s Mitsui & Co., Ltd., A-SIF is targeting up to US$100 million (PHP5.6 billion) in investments via fund and co-investments in Buskowitz. Swedish battery storage developer Flower has closed a series A funding round at €45 million, bringing total investment in the company to €100 million. Flower’s Series A round was led by Northzone with additional investment from: Giant Ventures; 82an Invest (a joint venture between the Wallenberg Foundation’s FAM and returning investor 41an Invest, the investment vehicle of H&M founder and CEO Karl-Johan Persson and Glocalnet and Kivra founder Stefan Krook); Sony Innovation Fund; and angel investors Thomas von Koch (partner at the EQT Foundation), and founder of game developer King, Sebastian Knutsson. Northzone general partner Pär-Jörgen Pärson has also joined Flower’s board. Flower will deploy this latest capital towards its pan-European expansion plans, as well as furthering development of its battery energy storage systems. Active currently in Sweden and Denmark, Flower will become operational also throughout the DACH region [Germany, Austria and Switzerland], France, the Netherlands, and Belgium throughout 2025 and 2026. Enjoying my last day at TMLEnergy, representing at Munas AESI—a journey filled with challenges and surprises. It all began with the biggest decision of my life to shift my career to renewable energy, leading to various achievements in this industry. 1. Developed 50+ project proposals for various types of projects, including on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid, as well as various types such as rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating with total capacity over 100 MWp. 2. Managed over 40 accounts, bringing in 20+ new accounts for the company. 3. Won 10+ tender projects. 4. Established the company's digital marketing team, including creating SOPs, Grand Design, and Reporting, resulting in a 200% increase in online traffic. 5. Created modules and training for account managers/BD Officers at TMLEnergy. Undesirable achievement: Ended up in the ER (IGD) twice :) It's been a challenging journey but very rewarding. I would like to express my gratitude to my mentors at TMLEnergy—Mba Annisa Chairani, Mba Gamavianur Novitasari, Pak Rudy, Pak Hartoyo, Mas Syaiful Bahri—and my colleagues Muhammad Ikhsan Kusrachmansyah, Syahrul Ahmad G, Kevin Antonio Deswanda Abdu Yakan Rosyadi Diva Qotrunnada. I shall persist in the realm of renewable energy, though our paths now diverge. Our shared endeavor endures, guiding Indonesia toward the embrace of green energy. Nordic battery storage system market is heating up evidenced by this 38.5MWh utility scale battery to support the power grid. “BESS” is an acronym worth knowing - we are going to see an explosion of this category of project. Compared with other energy storage technologies, the advantage of BESS include - extremely rapid response times measured in milli seconds, - fast cycling between charging & discharging and - efficient incremental capacity increases. - close to zero maintenance cost leading to very low opex The weakness of BESS that it’s not suitable for seasonal storage (this is best served by pumped hydro) and the cost per MWh is still high - in the order of €200k/MWh. However the capex cost is coming down rapidly thanks to scaling of cell production, and thanks to this BESS is now viable in triple-A investment envirements like the Nordics. Weaker investment environments in central and southern Europe will follow and eventually reach EM as well. The future is renewables and storage!
