🎄 The holiday season is approaching – and with it, the eternal debate about Satoshi Nakamoto! 🤔💭 Since I started working in the cryptocurrency space in 2016, I am amazed. I did not think the identity topic of Satoshi Nakamoto would be rehashed again – but apparently, there are still profits to be made from streaming services. 🎥💰 It remains questionable whether we'll actually learn who Satoshi is, given that he disappeared nearly 14 years ago. 😮 But let's set aside speculation and focus on the facts: the relevance for crypto portfolios is highly questionable. 📉💡 Everyone should recognize that Satoshi has not been actively involved in Bitcoin development for many years, and the total of all his possible wallets represents about 5% of the tokens. 🗝️ This means that even if it were to happen that Satoshi suddenly reappears and hypothetically sells 5% of all tokens, it wouldn't be the predicted drama as some people make it out to be. 🚨 Markets calculate the price per unit, share or in this case Bitcoin by taking the market capitalization and dividing it by the number of available tokens. Expectations suggest that a certain percentage of tokens are “lost” – think of the stories about lost keys or people who threw away their old laptops and now regret it. 💻😱 This might be where the markets include Satoshi's tokens, as potentially lost. If now Satoshi does exist and still has access to those old wallets, the only change in this calculation would be that the market capitalization of Bitcoin would be divided by a number that is about 5% larger than before. If the denominator increases by 5%, the result will only change by a similar proportion. 📊 As a reminder: Bitcoin is a market that regularly experiences massive volatility in excess of 5% – not just weekly, but sometimes even daily. 📈💥 Therefore, each person must decide how relevant such “news” really is and how much time one wants to spend on such rumors.
