Yes Brereton must definitely resign. Has been caught out for serious bad conduct which therefore should have consequential serious consequences (not just a simple judicial mistake). The results of his bad conduct is that an extremely bad and dark chapter in Australia will not be further examined (or with much further time elapsed) and the Liberals who set it up will also not face any further charges.

Brereton’s position is untenable. If he refuses to resign the government must act. Corruption is an election issue.

I mean, let’s look at the elephant in the room. Both he and Kathryn Campbell are defence elite. We need auties with no loyalty to anyone in these roles

1dLike a snake eating its tail. Corruption is also like a nuclear chain reaction. It keeps on giving, or should I say taking. It's grossly unhealthy, to put fingers into many pies, to eat more than the size of your stomach, I was taught. It's hard to be "independent", when you wear many hats, especially at the same time. It's unfashionable, too. We need an "independent" investigation into the conduct of the Hon Brereton. This is a valuable opportunity, to show the interconnectedness of compromised holders of power. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so when the weak one is found, the chance to break it must be taken.
