Giving business stakeholders the PO role will not benefit the organisation. Having close and entrusted alignments with them (as a customer) is a better idea. Agile Transformation and Agile Mindset takes time and does not come naturally.

It’s not important whether the PO comes from the business-side or the technology-side of things, as long as they really understand their role and can connect both worlds (unfortunately, the worlds are not yet fully intertwined).
