President & CEO at Solar Energy Industries Association

It’s 8:30 am and I am sitting in my office at SEIA’s headquarters here on K Street in Washington. I can see the White House from my window. SEIA will be keeping you updated with comprehensive election reactions soon, but I want you to hear directly from me, first thing this morning. The #solar and #storage industry is a powerhouse industry, steeped in delivering economic development, employment, and lower energy prices to consumers in every state in this country. We are not red or blue. We are red, white and blue. And SEIA is here, ready to continue to work with the new Administration and Congress, to ensure that we continue to grow, prosper, manufacture and be the economic engine that we are. These times may feel exceedingly exciting, uncertain, tenuous or positive for you. I wouldn’t presume to know. We are a diverse industry with diverse interests. But I can assure you. SEIA is ready and excited to continue to share the story of energy dominance and bipartisan support that we have been preaching for the past few years. So take a deep breath, get a cup of Dunkin, and trust that your trade association has your back. Onward friends. Echoing your sentiment, Abby. It's a winding road but solar and storage are, and will remain, strong asset classes driving economic and job growth. There's not much red or blue about rising costs and declining choices. Meeting unprecedented, unmet electricity demand is a unifying challenge. Doing that smartly and cleanly is a preference that crosses party lines. I'll be in shortly, sitting in that same building with you there on K street at Distributed Sun. The art of dialogue has never been more essential. Can I propose a cup of Peet's? If that's too big a divide for us to cross, I'll give this Duncan another chance.

As grid reliability issues increase, keeping the lights, wifi, and fridges on during natural disasters transcends party lines. Renewable and storage innovations must continue and my dream is that international collaboration for solving the world's problems with technology is not hindered by one countries politics.

Up and out early this morning on the west coast. Sun is up and can report that the earth is still spinning. And remember as Mr. Chruchill once said, "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty"... Solar and Renewables as part of the US energy mix can only grow and it is exciting times ahead of that, I'm sure..

Very well said. And I can tell you that in other countries too solar industry associations are engaging with governments, regulators and grid operators of every colour and every type. Some democratic governments, some in parts of the world that aren’t. In energy markets that are liberalised and those that aren’t. At the Global Solar Council (GSC) we believe no country and indeed no human should be left behind in the solar revolution. That’s our job, and we continue to adapt and respond to the opportunities and geopolitical context we find ourselves in.

We as an industry have proven time and again that we can overcome challenges to move the clean energy transition forward. I trust with all my heart we will keep the momentum going. Thank you Abby Hopper, the Solar Energy Industries Association staff and all the affiliates across the states in this great country of ours for your persistence. Thank you to all the SEIA member companies, including Origis Energy, who ensure these efforts are resourced. Thank you to all the #SolarSisters and #WomeninSolar and all the men who advocate for inclusivity. Your light will need to keep shining!

Amy, In 2006, I pioneered the residential renewable energy markets in Texas and Oklahoma. By 2014, we had expanded to every county, building a strong foundation in these communities. Then Wall Street entered the scene, bringing aggressive and disruptive marketing tactics from around the globe—constant calls and hang-ups, deceptive online strategies, click fraud, and practices that raised serious concerns about Google and Facebook’s monopolistic influence. I was content as the president of my own company, undeterred by Wall Street’s presence, confident in the value of being an industry pioneer. Yet, unfair business practices ultimately undermined my hard work and stole what felt like my American dream. Charles Crumpley Technology Expert Renewable Energy Pioneer 5th Generation American

Thank you Abby for the terrific leadership and steady driving on what has been a rocky road. I am Proud to be a SEIA member. For my 20+ years financing and researching pv, the industry has always adapted and overcame policy changes from both sides of the isle, as we have seen more recently from NEM3, s301, UFLPA, and FERC23 deposits. We now have both parties that want a USA mfg base even though tariff free commodity imports would accelerate US deployments and US jobs, and the only way to accomplish this is 45x push and domestic content adder pull. In the end, I think a pro business stance will lead to a stronger capital markets and investment environment that will reaccelerate the industry once the policy framework is established. I am optimistic pv will be supported.
