How can you avoid UX burnout?
Any discussion of work-related burnout should include an acknowledgement of capitalism. Publicly-traded businesses are required to maximize profit for shareholders. But UX is about meeting the needs of users. If the impact of a designer's work isn't understood as impactful to profit or loss, then the business can't afford to care about the designer. To combat this, we need to make sure the impact of our work is measured. Having to constantly prove your value can be damaging to a relationship. What if our relationship to any one company doesn't matter? We can realize that our employers see us through a very narrow lens that doesn't define us. We have worth outside of our jobs and our careers, much more than the money we generate.
